Envision Leadership Summit

Envision’s annual Summit is a 4-day leadership conference designed for the Alliance leader (between the ages of 25 and 35) who desires to contribute to the Kingdom of God in a variety of ways. This year's gathering will be held May 7-11, 2018 in Vancouver, BC. The Summit focuses on developing the skill and shaping the soul of the young Alliance influencer. In partnership with Envision Canada and the Canadian C&MA, Summit is intentionally postured to happen with, meaning there is a focus on collective learning, processing, and dialoguing throughout the week, as we wrestle through hard topics together.

The conference is all about development – so we will be focusing our time on soul care (every morning with Dr. Rob Reimer, Nyack ATS) and spending the afternoons on the topic of living missionally – what this looks like in a global context (Dr. Stanley John), and on the local level (Lisa Watson-Rodriguez).

Would you consider joining us?

The cost is $150. You can read more (and apply!) at https://www.thesummitenv.com.

In addition, Envision is releasing their first e-book called Reimagining Short-Term Missions, exploring the role of short-term missions within the Alliance family and opportunities to do these better. Join the conversation about the changing landscape of missions and ways we can move forward together as the Alliance family. Sign up here to receive this free resource.

A little information about Hartville Kitchen:

In 1966, our parents, Howard and Sarah Miller, opened a small restaurant, which would eventually be named Hartville Kitchen. While it was Dad’s vision to open a restaurant, Mom supported him whole-heartedly. She was often the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure the floors were scrubbed and everything was in its place. As word spread of the delicious, home-style foods they served, the restaurant outgrew its original location.

Today Hartville Kitchen is part of a family-owned and operated group of businesses that includes Hartville Kitchen Salad Dressings, Hartville Collectibles Gift Shop, Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market, Hartville Hardware and Hartville Tool.

While much has changed since our parents started Hartville Kitchen more than 40 years ago, we still adhere to the same values that guided them. We still serve the same quality homemade food using recipes passed down from our grandmother, Soloma Miller.
We appreciate our Mennonite heritage and strive to operate our businesses based on Christian principles. We are thankful for the many blessings God has given us and most of all, for his gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

We sincerely hope you “Come Home to Hartville Kitchen,” where homestyle cooking and unique shopping experience meet.

Evangelism Training

to Nov 15

Evangelism Training

  • Five consecutive Mini-Workshops held on Wednesday evenings 7p-8:15p, beginning October 18 and ending November 15.  Each class must be attended to qualify for completion.

  • Fulfills Ordination/Consecration Evangelism Training requirement but training is open to everyone.

  • Training to be held at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights.

Cost is $10 for training and workbook

Registration is now FULL.

In this class you will learn some techniques that you can use to turn a conversation to spiritual things.  Jesus used good questions and identified needs that He saw in people.  You will be trained in some of these techniques.  You will learn how to take your own brokenness and turn it into an opportunity to share your hope in Christ.  You will then learn how to move that conversation into a clear presentation of the Gospel with an opportunity to respond to this message of hope.

Reverend Rick Toburen will be the presenter for this workshop.  Rick came to Christ while a student at Purdue University through Cru.  He was on their staff for six years and then the Associate Pastor at Chapel Hill Church (CMA) in Cuyahoga Falls for seven years.  He was then a bi-vocational pastor for 30 years while he taught Chemistry at Solon High School.  Rick retired in 2013 and began working more full-time with the Central District as the Coordinator for Ordination/Consecration and the Lead program.  He loves to equip men and women to be more effective in utilizing their gifts and abilities to serve the Lord in His Kingdom.  He saw a tremendous need in the church for equipping in evangelism and has used his background with Cru, the CMA and the educational workplace to develop a workshop that is highly interactive and practical.
