Operation West Virginia (OWV) is a church planting movement under the banner of the Central District of the C&MA. This movement was born in 2000 with the aim of re-evangelizing the 1.8 million people of West Virginia by planting a Great Commission church in every one of its 55 counties. Since the beginning of OWV, churches have been planted in Salem, Rosedale, Eleanor,  Huntington, Sutton, Philippi, and Martinsburg.

The Need: 1.8 million lost Mountaineers who will spend eternity in Hell.
Objective - go everywhere we have an "opening" (Col. 4:3-5) and make true disciples.

Values

  • Collaborative efforts - John 17:20-23
  • Prayer - for discernment, direction and dependence
  • Clear proclamation of Christ - Ephesians 6:19-20
  • Making reproducing disciples
  • Lay movement - Ephesians 4:11-12
  • Relationships/Friendships with the lost - Matthew 9:9-13

OWV Gatherings

Scheduled meetings will be statewide (see calendar).

Regional gatherings -
- We will start with three loosely defined regions.  (see map) 
- Gatherings will be scheduled and facilitated by regional catalysts.

State wide gatherings - 
- Gathering will be held at a central location (Buckhannon, 
Stonewood).
- Initially 9 am to 1 pm is the time frame (a simple lunch will be provided).
- Agenda will include initial prayer, brief regional reports, strategizing,
prayer for openings, and short 20 minute related topic discussion.
