Equipping Spanish Speaking Men and Women to be Ministry Leaders

By Rev. Clint Bieri & Rev. Josh Franks, Executive Directors of LEAD

Have you ever heard the voice of Jesus giving you a simple invitation to follow Him, and you knew you just had to do what He asked you to do?

Five years ago, Josh Franks and I had that moment as we were talking together at a Church Planting Seminar that, frankly, we didn’t want to attend. But from that moment, we knew we had been invited by Jesus to engage with Him in the equipping of men and women to be ministry leaders. 2 Timothy 2:2 - And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others - has been ringing in our ears ever since to identify generations of leaders who are being raised up and who lead the charge in Kingdom work.

We started the LEAD program three months later with eight students. Four of them graduated after their two and a half year journey, having fulfilled the requirements for licensing in the Central District. We now have 78 active students spanning eight Alliance districts, eight states, and three countries (US, France, and El Salvador).

Over the last two years, we have taken several students on international trips, one of them to El Salvador, Central America. While we were there, we quickly realized that there are Spanish speaking ministry leaders who do not have the kind of access to local, affordable, quality ministry training that we have here in the States. We began to see a need and started asking Jesus if He was again inviting us to respond to Him by equipping Spanish speaking men and women to be ministry leaders. We believe His answer is, YES! So we have begun to identify the steps we need to take in order to launch Spanish speaking LEAD cohorts.

Since saying “YES” to Jesus to engage in Spanish translation, he has given us encouragers, translators, proofreaders, question-askers, and futurists. We have been in contact, or have been told to contact people all over the world about potential ways the LEAD program could serve men and women in El Salvador, the United States, Spain, and Germany.

As we consider all that Jesus has invited us into, we can barely contain ourselves. For that reason, we want to extend the invitation to you and ask you to join us on the journey of equipping ministry leaders so that the Kingdom of God will advance unhindered in the Spanish speaking world. We are looking for partners who would help offset the costs of translation as we seek to bring local, affordable, quality training to native Spanish speakers. We have calculated the total investment to be $10,000 to complete this language conversion. This investment, made over the next two years, will translate all of the materials for both our students and our cohort directors.

Would you or someone you know have interest in making the LEAD program training accessible to the Spanish speaking world? Would you also be willing to invest in the transformation of these Kingdom leaders? If you would like to know more about the translation efforts of the LEAD program, please email Josh at josh@leadcma.org or myself at clint@leadcma.org. We can also be located online at www.leadcma.org. We can answer any questions you may have and help you with the next steps to get involved. If you know that Jesus is inviting you to support this translation effort with either your time, talent or treasure, please contact one of us to see how you can say "YES" to the invitation Jesus is giving to you. It's amazing what Jesus does when we respond to His simple invitation. We look forward to partnering with you to see Spanish speaking men and women equipped to be ministry leaders!
