"This little computer" said the sales clerk "will do half of your job for you." Studying the machine, the senior VP said "Fine. I'll take two."
Have you ever wished that you could find a way to make your job easier? I can’t guarantee that using the following resources twice will mean that all your work will be done for you, but the Alliance has done some of the work for you when it comes to communicating, participating in and supporting what God is doing around the world.
If a picture paints a thousand words, how many does a video paint? Let professionally produced Alliance videos give your congregation or small group a better picture of how God is using Alliance International Workers to reach the nations.
Going to http://www.cmalliance.org/video/ will give you access to all kinds of videos for missions and other purposes. Alliance Video Magazine (AVM) and Alliance Snapshots are short enough to be used before or during a sermon to drive a point home. They can be used to start a small group discussion or allow a youth group to see God in action.
As you scroll down the page, you will see that AVM is one of the selections – http://www.cmalliance.org/video/series/avm/. There are usually plenty of good missions’ videos with stories of the work on various fields, as well as videos that show churches in the US involved in reaching out to those around them. AVM videos typically run from 1 to 4 minutes.
When I think of Alliance Snapshots the saying “Good things come in small packages” comes to mind. Alliance Snapshots are brief videos, usually about one minute long, that are also available to you at http://www.cmalliance.org/video/series/alliance-snap-shots/.
Closer to home, our District also offers professionally produced videos on our website. When you go to http://cdcma.org/videos, you can find a variety of resource videos such as the ESL (English as a Second Language) ministry in Akron or the messages from the 2016 and 2017 Deep and Wide events, the videos from the 2017 District Conference including the Kingdom Spotlight videos, etc. I highly recommend the ESL video if you want to encourage your church to reach out to Internationals around you.
You can find recent stories about our Alliance International Workers or what it is like to be a refugee child, along with news updates on relief efforts for the string of natural disasters in and near our country by going to https://www.cmalliance.org/news/ on the Alliance website.
Maybe your church would like to get involved in relief efforts related to these recent hurricanes and earthquake. Our district has resources for this including the Disaster Recovery Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CDDRMinistries/ and the website page at http://cdcma.org/disaster-response/. Also, Compassion and Mercy Associates (CAMA) has information about how you can give or go to sites to participate in relief projects on their website http://camaservices.org/. CAMA currently has relief projects in operation for United States and Cuba victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma (Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico) as well as in Mexico for the earthquake victims. Other relief and development projects around the world are also featured under “Our Work”.
So whether you’re looking to make your work easier or to get involved in kingdom work around the world, the information you need is at your fingertips.
